Question to CE:
To ask the CE for an update on the Bishop Lucey Park revamp? (Cllr Kieran McCarthy)
Motions:
That at Broadale Estate, bollards or poles along the footpath will be placed at the entrance from Maryborough Hill to stop vehicles using the footpath as a parking area, and to stop them blocking traffic attempting to enter the estate, that m pedestrian detectable surfaces be placed at the crossings, and that white lines be placed on the roads intersecting the main road through the estate (Cllr Kieran McCarthy).
That the info on the old Cork City Walks signs be incorporated into the Cork City Walks section of the Council’s website (Cllr Kieran McCarthy).
That the City Council liase with the owners of St Vincent’s Church in order to come up with a conservation strategy and ideas on the future use of the interior of the historic church (Cllr Kieran McCarthy).
That this Council writes to the Minster for Justice and express disappointment that at the 6 June 2025 graduation from the Garda College in Templemore only three garda graduates — known as “probationers” — were assigned to Cork city, while two other gardai were transferred to the division. However, the Garda association has noted that in the Cork city division three frontline gardaí retired and two received promotions, ultimately cancelling out the five new arrivals (Kieran McCarthy).
