Cork City Council crews were active yesterday evening and before nightfall to deal with the fallout from Storm Ophelia.
Council crews were out again early this morning clearing trees and other debris. Key traffic arteries have been cleared and are open to traffic again.
Power outages are continuing to pose a challenge in the days ahead. This situation will be kept under review.
The City Council will today be assessing possible infrastructural damage to public buildings.
Public parks will be closed in cases where there have been instances of fallen trees.
Normal public services have resumed today at City Hall.
Cork City Council is requesting the public to continue to remain vigilant in relation to fallen trees, storm debris and possible structural damage and to bear with us over the coming days as we continue to deal with the fallout from Storm Ophelia.
