Age Action Ireland, Cork Programme
Correspondence from Age Action Ireland
Dear Councillor,
Thank you for supporting Age Action’s Care & Repair programme in the past by publishing our information in your newsletter.
As you are aware, Age Action is a charity for older people and the Care & Repair programme provides volunteers to do odd-jobs and DIY work in older people’s homes free of charge. This makes an enormous difference to the lives of older people throughout Cork City and surrounding towns who find it difficult to get by without the support of others. We also keep a list of reliable tradesmen who can provide quotes to older people for bigger jobs in their homes, eliminating the risk of older people being ripped off by rogue tradesmen.
We have a team of 75 volunteers who are doing fantastic work to help older people in their communities. It is important that we let older people who may not be aware of this free service know that they can call on us for help. I would be most grateful if you would print the attached information in your publication so that older people in your community can avail of this excellent service.
Should you require further information please feel free to contact me at the number below. I would be happy to email further details of the programme, chat to you about how it works, or to be interviewed for a piece in your publication.
Once again, thank you for supporting the programme in the past. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
John O Mahony
