Cork City Libraries recently added new webpages on Oliver Plunkett Street to their Cork Past and Present website (under the ‘Places’ tab). These pages were created by a JobBridge intern with a master’s degree in history, James Reynolds. These webpages hopefully begin to address the absence of a coherent source of information on Oliver Plunkett Street, a vital and busy spine running through the city centre.
This is a sample entry of one of the pages in that section: http://www.corkpastandpresent.ie/places/oliverplunkettstreet/buildings/conwaysyard/. Other pages can be accessed by the menu at left of that webpage.
As well as having intrinsic interest, these pages lend support to Cork City Council’s initiatives to help trade in the city centre.
